Best Fly Fishing Vacations

It takes a certain location to make for an enjoyable fly fishing vacation. Ideally, you want a place with clean waters, fair weather, and a fast turnaround from civilization in case you need supplies! When going fly fishing, be sure to consider these locations before you go anywhere else as they are likely some of the best places to take your lure for a fly fishing vacation.

The first place to go is Alaska.  In remote cities such as Talkeetna, the rivers are wide and deep, and rich with King Salmon catches that would make for a great dinner or a great trophy over anyone’s fireplace! While the weather might be cold, come at the right time of the year and you will find that the entire river bends to your lure as the salmon start swimming upstream for their yearly spawning season, making for thousands of potential good catches!

The next place you want to check out is Yellowstone National Park. The rivers running through these parks are rich with trout and you are sure to get some incredible catches year round! In addition, should you get bored of fly fishing or should the lures dry up, you can always go hiking or sight seeing around the vast, majestic national park for a few hours to kill some time instead of waiting by an empty line for a catch to come in. It will make for a great fly fishing vacation without a doubt.

Next up is Glacier National Park in Montana. This park is filled with rich, flowing rivers all ripe with your next catch and because of this are infamous for fly fishing.  Take your friends and family down the Beaverhead River which stretches 69 miles through the park and contains what many biologists believe to be a record number of fish to catch. Some report as many fish in this river as 1900 per mile, making it a sure fire spot for your next fly fishing vacation.
